About Mrs. Reeves
Dear First Grade Families,
Welcome to first grade at Gold Rush Elementary! My name is Lindsay Reeves, and I am thrilled to be your child’s teacher this year and to get to know you and your family. I look forward to a wonderful year discovering endless possibilities through our many learning adventures together.
The beginning of each new school year seems to bring a sense of excitement, wonder, and curiosity. I know I have all of those feelings currently and am anxious to get this year started and learn all about who your child is and what makes him or her so unique and special. I am sure you are wondering the same about me, so please allow me to introduce myself and tell you a bit about who I am.
I grew up in a suburb of Houston, Texas and attended Sam Houston State University where I received my degree in Academic Studies with a minor in Reading and Language Arts. I taught second and third grade in Texas for three years before moving to Colorado with my husband in the summer of 2010. Since arriving to Colorado, I’ve taught second grade, Reading Intervention for kindergarten through fourth grade students, and, most recently, kindergarten in the Cherry Creek School District. I am eager to begin my ninth year in the classroom as a first grade teacher and feel honored to be here at Gold Rush Elementary!
My husband and I fell in love with Parker as soon as we stumbled upon it eight years ago and knew we wanted to call this town our home. We quickly laid down our roots here (literally right down the street from school) and don’t plan to leave any time soon. We welcomed our daughter, Maryn, in 2013 and our son, Grady, in 2016. My daughter will be entering into kindergarten this year here at Gold Rush, and I am so happy to have her with me! In our free time, we enjoy hiking with our dog, Tucker, trying new restaurants, heading to the mountains, camping, and exploring all this beautiful state has to offer!
I believe it is essential for us to work alongside one another to help your child reach his or her greatest potential. Please contact me at any time with any questions or concerns that you may have, as I will do the same. I encourage an open dialogue between us and look forward to becoming partners in your child’s journey throughout first grade. You can reach me by email at [email protected].
Respectfully,
Mrs. Lindsay Reeves
